RENEE MUELLER MD,
Dr. Mueller currently serves as the Associate Program Director for our Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship. She is Board Certified by both the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American Board of Surgery. She received her medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where she also completed a general surgery residency. Dr. Mueller completed her fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery through Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. She is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Central Florida, School of Medicine, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Florida State University, College of Medicine and University of South Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Mueller is a consultant surgeon of the Colon & Rectal Specialty for UF Health Cancer Center (formerly MD Anderson Cancer Center of Orlando).
Dr. Mueller specializes in laparoscopic-assisted colon surgery for benign and malignant disease, anal physiology testing for chronic constipation, and fecal incontinence. She also specializes in anal rectal ultrasound, sphincter saving techniques for rectal cancer and surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and screening colonoscopy for colon cancer.
Dr. Mueller is very active at the hospital level and serves on several committees to improve patient care including Surgery Quality Committee and ERAS (Enhanced Recovery after Surgery) Committee. She is the Physican Liason for the ORMC Colorectal Surgery floor and regularly meets with the nurse manager and nursing staff to provide high quality care. She is very interested in teaching and enjoys training fellows, residents, and medical students.
Dr. Mueller is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
